UMDNJ Integration and Grants and Contracts

To assist faculty and staff at both Rutgers and UMDNJ, Rutgers’ Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) has developed a newly revised set of guidelines for grant applications and management, which are posted here. The clarifications and changes being made in procedures and processes are intended to provide a higher level of service and to optimize efficiency in grant submissions through award processing, which will reduce efforts required by individual schools, faculty, and staff. The ORSP contacts who currently assist with grant submissions and award processing for most Rutgers faculty and staff will remain the same. Legacy UMDNJ schools and departments will receive an update on their specific contacts from Rutgers OSRP very soon. An up-to-date list of contacts will also be provided on the ORSP website (http://orsp.rutgers.edu).

Director of Regulatory Affairs Appointed in ORSP

László M. Szabó has joined Rutgers as the university’s first director of regulatory affairs. He most recently served as a deputy attorney general in the office of New Jersey's Attorney General. Working in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Szabó is responsible for the federally mandated, universitywide Institutional Reviews Boards and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committees. He also manages the federal financial conflict-of-interest-in-research program. Read more here.
